I started gung-ho this morning. Got up at 7:50 for a 30 minute walk/jog around my neighborhood first thing before work. Afterwards I grabbed breakfast of oatmeal! Yum!
I nearly hit the snooze button on my alarm but I pushed myself out of bed and into my sneakers. Luckily the Florida heat was giving me a break this morning. It was actually nice out there! I pushed through it, I need to get used to jogging, but I'll take one step at a time.
To determine what I'm going to eat and how I'm going to exercise, I used the Basal Metabolic Rate calculator. It basically tells me what calories I burn based on my weight, height, and age. It calculates what I burn when doing nothing.
The equation looks like so:
BMR= 655 + (4.38 x Weight) + (4.7 x Height in Inches) - (4.7 x Age)
So mine looks like so
BMR = (4.38 x 165) + (4.7 x 63) - (4.7 x 24)
= 1556.05
To determine your total daily calorie needs, multiply your BMR by the appropriate activity factor, as follows:
If you are sedentary (little or no exercise) : Calorie-Calculation = BMR x 1.2
If you are lightly active (light exercise/sports 1-3 days/week) : Calorie-Calculation = BMR x 1.375
If you are moderatetely active (moderate exercise/sports 3-5 days/week) : Calorie-Calculation = BMR x 1.55
If you are very active (hard exercise/sports 6-7 days a week) : Calorie-Calculation = BMR x 1.725
If you are extra active (very hard exercise/sports & physical job or 2x training) : Calorie-Calculation = BMR x 1.9
So if I go with my plan of working out 3 to 5 times a week my BMR turns out to be 2411. 87
To safely lose, I will have to eat 500 to 1000 calories less than I burn a day. so somewhere around 1911.87 to 1411.87
I am hand writing my calorie intake as well as using this website:
http://caloriecount.about.com
It is convenient because you can look up certain items and find out exactly the calories you've consumed and lost based on the food or activity. Even sleeping and sitting!
As well as exercising I'm planning on working to learn some of Gaga's dances! Gonna enjoy myself while i get rid of unwanted weight! Planning to work on them when all roomies are out of the house haha. I'm so embarassed about things like this.
This girl's tutorials are very in depth and well done! I love her charisma! If anyone else is interested, here she is teaching Bad Romance
She's some thinspiration in herself! If only I had become obsessed with dancing! Well here's my chance! My other goal right now to to learn the dances for Bad Romance, Telephone, and Alejandro.
I have a dress I'm in love with right now!
This dress is from one of my favorite Japanese brands, Liz Lisa. Too cute for words! I love the mix of bohemian and floral prints. I'm obsessed with this look right now!
And how about a sandwich you don't have to feel guilty about??
My favorite item at Panera! The Mediterranean Veggie Sandwich! At only 300 cals, I'm excited that I can still eat this lovely thing when I want to!
And add their Black Bean Soup for just another 160 and that's a meal for 460 calories! Nice!
So, if I happen to gain any followers.... People! I'm drinking Tea like a madwoman! What's your favorite tea?
The Republic of Tea: Honey Ginseng Green Tea - It's a little pricier than your average store band tea but it is well worth the cost. No sweetener needed for this tea - it is tasty all on its own. I also have lost weight drinking this tea.
ReplyDeleteOh man! Looks really good! Is the honey not too overpowering? I enjoy strong teas with little to no sweetness. How much have you lost with this?
ReplyDeleteThis tea isn't sweet at all to be honest the only way I can even tell there is honey in it is from the smell. I think this tea doubles as an aroma therapy because I love to breath it in with every sip.
ReplyDeleteI usually brew it in warm water instead of hot because I like to keep the flavor from tasting 'cooked'. But if you want a stronger brew than us hot water(not boiling). Personally I use four tea bags for one pitcher(about a gallon). It will turn out a light green and very fragrant. Very refreshing.
I lost 10 pounds so far just by adding this tea to my diet. It doesn't take very long for me to go through a pitcher about 1-2 days max. I love this tea I recommend it to everyone :)
